The Kansas City’s Passport to Adventure is a free annual program sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Interpretive Site Coalition. Every year hundreds of families participate in the kickoff and throughout the summer visiting participating sites. It is a great way to explore some of the little “treasures” of the Kansas City area.
The passport booklet can be picked up at the annual kick-off event each year (dates and sites vary) or at any participating ISC sites April – October while supplies last. Families and/or individuals have until October 31 to complete their passport by visiting the participating sites. Passport sites include KC metro area nature centers, museums, gardens, historical sites, and education centers. When visiting each site, answer the “hunt” question and get your page stamped, if you visit the designated percentage of sites you can win a prize!
The KC’s Passport booklet is a great resource for anyone looking for places to visit in the Kansas City area.
Find participating sites and website info for each by visiting our homepage menu.
We’ve enjoyed the Kansas City Passport to Adventure program and learned about new places in the Kansas City region we had never heard of even though we have lived here all our lives. I even wrote an article about it for our genealogy blog = https://rush-family-news.blogspot.com/2014/05/weekend-ramblers.html
I got on the internet this morning to find out if the program was still going as it’s something my husband’s niece might enjoy doing and to pass out to her children’s families now that she’s a daycare teacher. I was happy to find this website. Thank you for many happy memories and learning adventures.
Will this program go into 2022? I hope so
